Using Web 2.0 Tools to Create My ePortfolio In designing my ePortfolio, I included text and incorporated images on the surface. Once I was finished with this section of my Prezi, I inserted my first frame around the images (school building, children playing in the school yard and pictures of secretaries collaborating and sharing ideas). Moving on to the next part of my presentation, I then included an image of a church building, a Sunday school sign that displayed the time Sunday school started and an image of children engaged in a Sunday school lesson). I encircled these images with another frame. I thought to integrate a Voki to share weekly lessons with the parents, but I decided to expand it in another project to include programs for the holidays. The next and final frame included pictures of my family and other individuals who went on a bus ride to Washington, D.C. with us to see the unveiling of the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King jr.,'s monument and pictures of us touring the Rotunda building. Wrapping up this Prezi I included a Podcast on one of the many speeches done by Dr. King. Reflection of Prezi I like using Prezi because it is simple and a lot of fun to use. With this ease of use, I am able to get a lot of links, images and videos with less difficulty unlike others I have encountered with before; however, I want to share that it is wise to know ahead of time how much memory these images contain before inserting them in your presentation, otherwise, there may not be enough space to upload them and you will not be able to view your Prezi. Also, be attentive to the fact that you can share your Prezi with others, but the Prezi will last only 10 minutes if you plan on sharing it with your peers, so you need to verbalize it to them before you invite them to view and give their comments. This presentation highlighted three areas that has enriched my personal, professional and extracurricular life: Secretary, Sunday school teacher and Youth Coordinator. How is this Prezi representative of key learning? With Prezi, I was able to integrate all the commands into the portfolio. In using this tool, it allowed me to understand the differences with the links, images and the YouTube videos which are some key learning ideas to technology. Without using these features, I would not have been able to develop a solid portfolio. I felt a sense of satisfaction with the empowerment to create my own movie without anyone helping me. As I worked on my Prezi, the better I felt and the more confident I got doing this. I will develop more technical skills using Prezi as well as from other challenging tools. Any takeaways? Certainly, I came away from this presentation knowing that in spite of a few setbacks and glitches if I persevered, I was going to resolve the problem. I do recommend Prezi to anyone because it is a tool that is worthwhile to learn especially for beginners who want to use images and videos together in their presentation or showcasing pictures for a family gathering. I am very passionate about these three areas of my life as I do get to help a lot of people and so in using all the elements that were required in this presentation, they helped transform the ePortfolio from an ordinary presentation to integrate images, frames, links and a YouTube video making it extraordinarily phenomenal. To wrap up this ePortfolio, I would like to capture moments on a Podcast of youths and seniors bridging the gap at each event. Hopefully, this respectful relationship will inspire others to form similar relationships thus making our world a better place to live. Links to the various places we have visited will also be incorporated.
