The purpose of this site is to demonstrate 21st century skills by having students publish their projects in a social network environment using Web 2.0 tools. Participants must articulate these skills through collaboration and communication in responding to their peers' postings and sharing ideas with them through feedback on their blogs. Not only will students create a Wiki to highlight their ePortfolio, and share documents, they will also create blogs linking them to the Wiki and exploring the Internet to learn about other tools such as Voki, Blogger, and Cool text; they will also learn to create podcasts, and create presentations using Google Docs, Prezi and other applications like Camtasia Studio 7. Besides using links, images are embedded iwithin the Wiki to make it an interactive component.
Goals:
The purpose of my webpage is to encourage collaboration, communication and networking by sharing ideas using various technological tools, links and podcast.
To pursue the concept that technology throughout the curriculum will revolutionize learning using the various tools to help in differentiated learning.
To embrace and welcome a larger comunity in the learning environment as students collaborate with their peers and the teacher.
To reassure participants that with constant writing, practicing and commenting on each other's blog, they will eventually become effective writers.
Objectives:
To effectively use social networks such as Twitter, Blogger to write and share knowledge
To invite students or other audience members to visit my web page.
To comment on other members' blogs
To show how we can be creative using blog, podcast, images, audio and sound
To learn to copy images from one blogging site and embed them in another site.
To build a following of a large community of collaborators sharing similar interests in their social network
Reflections:
In looking back from when I first was introduced to Web 2.0 tools, I have learned a lot. Creating a Wikispace really needs a lot devoted time so that the links to ensure that links are easily navigated. So far I am enjoying working with the different tools; however, I intend to spend more time after this course to make some improvements on the tools that I had experienced some difficulty in developing properly. I will continue to network and collaborate with my peers and especially with the oral presentation, I am looking forward to learning from my peers and use some of their ideas to impact my experience.
